Installer Exceptions and Skills

Not all installers share the same skill sets.

You might have a contractor that only installs a specific product and others that don't install that product.

To update this, you can download need to update the

Installer Skills

Which Inventory Groups can they install?

There are two ways to update the Installers' skills; the first would be to go to the Installer and update the list at the bottom of the screen. This is a relatively quick process if you only update one or two installers.

The second option is to use the import/export function. I would recommend this if you need to update multiple installers.

Once the file has been downloaded, you will be presented with a table that may contain a list of installers and products.

You can toggle their skills by changing the value in column D. Don't forget to input an A for Add or E for Edit.

No need to deactivate any of these; change the value to False.

NOTE: this list might not have all the products and installers, especially if this is the first time downloading the file.

What to do If your Installer skills file does not show the entire list of products.

If you are presented with an empty list or a list that doesn't contain all of your products or is missing an installer, you will need to source the Product list from the Inventory settings area.

The three documents you will need are the Inventory Settings (import Export Inventory Settings)

See the example below to find the document, or click here if you are logged into BUZ.

You will also need the Workflow Settings Import sheet

Now you have the files open; you will need the add the data from the Inventory Groups and Installers into the Installer Skills Tab

In the example below, I am copying the product groups, not the options and adding them to the Installer skills page.

Next, I am copying the Installer code and adding the list of groups to every Installer.

Once complete, it will save the file and upload it to BUZ.

Installer Exceptions

This page is used to inform BUZ that the Installer is on leave.

  • If it is a new entry, leave the PKId Column blank; if updating or editing a previous entry, a PKid will be present.

  • Enter the Installers code

  • The date that the Installer will not be available

  • Add FALSE to inform BUZ that the Installer won't pick up any items that day.

  • Installer hours set to -1

    • -1 tells BUZ to ignore that whole day; 0 will still count this as a production day and may affect the dispatch date for orders

  • Add a Description if required

  • Next, let BUZ know that the line is TRUE

  • A for Add
