Job Tracking Line

Most product groups require a production line, and there are a few reasons for this.

Providing a Job tracking line allows BUZ to calculate an Estimated Dispatch date.

There might be times when a product will require a second Job tracking line, generally for items like Tracks, Rails or anything that needs to be split into its own process rather than being part of the overall Product process, this is possible by setting up a second Product Group and allocating a Job Tracking line to the Group.

If you would like more information about this setup, email support@buzsoftware.com.au, and one of our team members will assist.

Job tracking line also assists when running a query/search in job tracking. This allows you to conduct a search based on the products, as well as the statues that they are in.

Go to Settings → Workflow Timing & Tracking Settings → Job Tracking Lines

For each "Job Tracking Line"

  • Code/ Abbreviation - Numbers and letters only, no spaces or non-alphanumeric characters.

  • Description - This will show in the Job Tracking line and the Product Group.

  • Sequence number - If you would like to have the list in a different order, otherwise it will be alphabetically sorted.

  • Tracking Lead Time - The minimum number of days before production can commence to allow for ordering of fabric and components. So even if there is no production, nothing will be scheduled on this Job Tracking Line until or after the Lead Time. Enter 0 (zero) for immediate start.

  • Days to complete - Arrive in Factory - Finished production (Includes public holidays)

  • Production capacity - For each day of the week, the number of minutes of production that can be carried out on the day. 480 minutes = 8 hours x 60 minutes. This is so that different products can be manufactured on the same Production Line, e.g. Roller Blinds and Romans. If a number of units is the preferred count, then set Capacity to the number of units, and in the Inventory Group, set Production Standard Time to 1 (one).

  • Deactivate / Activate - Indicates an immediate change in availability. This does not make any changes to existing allocations, so the schedule needs to be checked and reallocated if necessary.
