Purpose
This page explains how to add inventory items via Excel. This method is helpful for creating multiple inventory items efficiently, saving you time and effort. Alternatively, you can add inventory items individually using BUZ. Click here for more information.
Execution
Before adding inventory items, ensure you have set up a group for them. Think of a Group as a folder, with inventory items as files within that folder.
There are two types of groups: Material and Components. This does not mean that you need to add those types of items to the groups.
Click here for more information about groups.
Navigate to the Inventory Items Area:
Go to Settings → Inventory Items → Import/Export.
Select Export Inventory Items.
Choose the Groups you wish to download. You can select multiple groups by holding Ctrl while selecting.
Search for a Group:
Use Ctrl + F to open a search box at the top right corner of the screen.
Export and Download:
After selecting the Group(s), click Export. An Excel file will download to your computer.
Open the Excel File:
Select the required tab. You will see a large table with 41 active columns, but not all are mandatory.

Deactivate (D).

Columns A, B, and C will be populated by BUZ.
Optional: Enter codes for Price, Cost, and/or Discount grids in columns G, H, and I.
Components/Options:

Column AO indicates the action: Add (A), Edit (E), or Deactivate (D). If left empty, BUZ will ignore the line.
Leave Column A empty.
Optional: Enter codes for Price, Cost, and/or Discount grids in columns G, H, and I.
The Code must be in capital letters, without special characters or spaces.
Code cannot contain any special characters !@#$%^&<>?
The description will appear in order and quote templates if selected.
