Linking an Inventory Item to a Question

Purpose

The purpose of this page is to show users how to link an inventory item to an answer. There are various reasons for this being but not limited to

  • Adding a Price

  • Adding a cost

  • For reporting purposes

  • To change a status

In this tutorial I will not show you how the item will calculate, as there are many factors of which need to be discussed and you can find out how BUZ Calculates an inventory item by clicking here

Note: Before you start this process ensure you have created an Inventory item, you will need the code from the inventory item https://buzsoftware.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/HELP/pages/716177663

Example setup

In my example I want to add a price to a Motor, I have create a Question “Controls” and when Left or Right Motor is selected I want an inventory item (with price included) to be apart of the order

Sales Area

This is how you would normally see the Group option, I have highlighted the Question red and arrows to the answers that we will be adding an inventory item to.

Group Options

Download the Group options for the Product that you wish to add the Inventory/Price to

I have downloaded my Roller Blind product and Column N is the area that we will be looking at

Inventory item

Next I will be downloading the Inventory Item list for my Components,

Now they are side by side, I create a list of Inventory items based off the answers that require a price.

So below I want to create an option for the Motor and Chain

I have added in a Code and Description for my Motor and Chain and Input an “A” into Column AO

Remember to keep the code between 4-6 Characters, No spaces, no Special characters

Upload this into BUZ

Add a Price

Next we need to add a price to the Inventory Item we just created, there is a few options, you can add attach a Price grid or add a Pricing Co-efficient

For this example I am going to add the price to the individual item but you can also download the list and update several items at once, click here for more information

Now that we have an inventory item and it has a price I want to link the inventory item to my answer in the group options

Adding Directly to the Answer - Option 1

There are a two different ways to add an inventory item to the group options

The first being to the Answer related to the inventory item

We are going to add the Motor , the table would look something like this
