Group Options - Calculations
The following pages will explain how BUZ calculates a price using the Group Options and Inventory items.
We will go through a few scenarios for setting up a Product and explain the sequence that needs to be followed so that your product calculates the correct price.
How are prices Calculated in BUZ?
BUZ can calculate in three dimensions,
Width
Height
Depth
You can also use QTY as a multiplier
Terminology
We know that every product you have can have different terminology, and not every product will have the same calculations or even use the other fields we are discussing.
To explain the layouts below, I will use some simple terms that hopefully make sense, even if your products don't use these exact terms.
Main Inventory Item (Material): This will generally be associated with a Fabric, Material, or Design Type.
These items will be uploaded to the main Group and are the first Questions asked in order.
Inventory Items - Components, parts or anything that requires a price or is used for reporting.
ITEMWIDTH - Width
ITEMHEIGHT - Height
ITEMDEPTH - Depth
QTY - Quantity
Layouts
BUZ uses defined values like ITEMWIDHT, ITEMHEIGHT, ITEMITEMDEPTH and QTY to set values for Inventory items
Once a value has been set, it will be applied to the Material and any components or options that the product may have; alternatively, the components can also have their own values set.
A | B | C | D | E | F | G |
Main Inventory Item (Material) | ITEMWIDTH | ITEMHEIGHT | QTY | Component | Component 2 | Component 2 - ITEMWIDTH |
|
|
|
| (Using ITEMWIDTH/ ITEMHEIGHT/ ITEMDEPTH/ Qty values) | Required its own width input | Width for Component 2 only |
BUZ follows an order of sequence
Material
In no particular order - ITEMWIDTH, ITEMHEIGHT, ITEMDEPTH, QTY -
Note once these values (ITEMWIDTH, Height, ITEMDEPTH, QTY) have been set, they will apply to any and all components in the order unless you specify a different value for the component, which will be explained.
Component
Component-related values (ITEMWIDTH, ITEMHEIGHT, ITEMDEPTH, QTY)
Layouts
Below is a few examples of the Headings that you can use to make a calculation.

Values for Materials and Components that relate to the material (single value) (Click here for more information)
This setup will apply the ITEMWIDTH, ITEMHEIGHT, ITEMDEPTH, and QTY values to the component.

This setup allows unique values for the Main Inventory item and the component.
As above but multiple inputs for the component.
Main Inventory Item (Material) | ITEMWIDTH | ITEMHEIGHT | ITEMDEPTH | Component | Component - ITEMWIDTH | Component - ITEMHEIGHT |
