Group Options - Materials and Components using the same values

Group Options - Materials and Components using the same values

Purpose

On this page will explain how to set up a product that has a Component (Inventory item) that will use a value from the Material/Fabric dimensions.

This setup has little to do with the Group options, it will show you the order that you need to input the questions but the main consideration is setting up the correct pricing.

Design

The Component will use a HEADING to use to calculate a price, but will not be affected by any of the other values in Yellow,

Setup

The component (Inventory item) in Column E to use one of the main values from the Fabric entered into Columns B, C or D.

To make this happen we need to add the pricing matrix so that the system can use the values to calculate a price as you intend

This table setup is pretty simple and does not require too much extra information. The material will be selected first (not show on this page), after that we determine the Width, Height and Depth, this can be done in any order. Once these values have been set the component (Column E) can be selected and will calculate from the values set before it.

NOTE: If you put the component before the Material values you will not get a price.

Price grid / pricing Co-efficients

You will need to select a pricing method, if the price is linear setting up a pricing Co-efficient might be the easiest option.

Alternatively the inventory item may require a limit or be priced in a way that is not linear, if that is the case then a price grid will be required.
