Step 2 - Curtains: Inventory Items, Heading Styles & Labour Items

Summary

By the end of this step, you should have all your Fabrics and components uploaded to BUZ. This page will look at the requirements for adding Fabrics, components such as motors. You will also add Inventory Items to related to Heading Styles such as Box Pleat, Pinch Pleat, S-Wave etc and Labour.
It’s important to pay special attention to column AH, AI and AJ as they will have different options if you are uploading fabrics as opposed to Heading Style inventory items.

 

Add Fabrics

Follow the instructions on pages: Inventory Items and Material Lists to download the Excel file and add your Fabrics.

Add the Description Part1, Description Part2 and Description Part3 and the variables in columns AH, AI and AJ.

The main fabrics/inventory will have 3 variables:

Custom Var 1 (PackSize)

Pattern Repeat

How often the pattern repeats in mm.

AI

Custom Var 2 (PackOpt)

Fabric Width

What the fabric width is in mm. If a fabric comes in 2 different widths (standard & wide) this needs to be added in as a separate fabric.

AJ

Custom Var 3 (PackType)

Railroad/continuous

This column can contain only the following letters: Y or C or N. For curtains this should not be left blank.

  • Y - Can be railroaded. If you have a Group Option called DIRECTION and options Continuous and Drops, this can be calculated using drops or as continuous fabric.

  • C - Continuous Fabric. DIRECTION must be Continuous or left blank.

  • N - Cannot be railroaded. DIRECTION must be DROPS or left blank.

Add Components and Heading Styles

Follow the instructions on pages: Inventory Items and Component/Option Items to download the Excel file and add your components and Heading Styles.
You can have different Groups for these if required or if you have components in other Groups already, such as motors, you do not have to add it again.

 

All Heading Styles should be kept in the same Group and not spilt across multiple Groups.

Custom Var 1 (PackSize)

Fullness

Fullness percentage. For example if Box Pleat requires 80% extra fabric, then you will enter 80, if S-Wave requires 200% extra fabric, then enter 200.

AI

Custom Var 2 (PackOpt)

Additional Fabric

Additional fabric required in mm for manufacturing.

NOTE: the sample script as additional creepage and fabric addition on top of the above settings, please let us know if this needs to be updated or removed.

Add Curtain & Lining Labour Inventory Items

Follow the instructions on pages: Inventory Items and Component/Option Items to download the Excel file and add your Labour options.
Labour can be split into multiple options such as Curtain Labour & Lining Labour, but you can also go a step further by refining it into different categories based on the Heading Style and type of Lining chosen.

Example:

Setup requirements:

-All labour options MUST be in a single Group with no other components. (e.g. you cannot have a motor in the labour Group).
-Column AH, AI & AJ should not be filled in.
-A script needs to be uploaded to the Group, please contact BUZ Support to action this for you.
