Managing Multiple Email Addresses for Customers
Some of your customers may have multiple email addresses for different parts of their business
for example, one for billing, one for sales queries, and another for delivery instructions. BUZ offers flexible options to manage and direct communications to the right email address.
🔹 Billing Contact
Every customer card includes a Billing Contact, which is typically used to receive:
Invoices
Statements
Order confirmations
Email Template Merge Field
To send emails to the Billing Contact, use the merge field:[Billing Email Address]
🔹 Delivery Contact
You can also add one or more Delivery Contacts to a customer card. This is ideal when a customer has multiple delivery locations or departments handling deliveries separately.
Each delivery contact can have their own:
Email address
Phone number
Delivery address
Email Template Merge Field
To send emails to a delivery contact, use the merge field:[Contact Email Address]
📌 Note: While possible, it’s less common to send invoices or order confirmations to a Delivery Contact. This option is best for dispatch- or delivery-related communication.
🔹 Logged-In Customer
If you leave the email address field blank in the email template, BUZ will send the email to the user who is logged in and placing the order. This is useful for self-service customers who manage their own accounts.
🔹 Using Customer Groups for Advanced Email Logic
If your business serves a variety of customer types, each with different email routing needs, you can use Customer Groups to manage email behavior more precisely.
For example:
Group A: Send billing documents to the Billing Contact
Group B: Send to the logged-in user
Group C: Send sales queries to a specific delivery contact
Each group can have its own email template, giving you full control over how communications are handled.
