Discount Groups - Customers

A Discount group is a set of inventory items, (this can include fabrics and components) that belong to a group.

Discount groups are designed so that all new leads that are added to a “Customer Group” receive a set Discount for a select set of products, which have been included in the Discount Group.



The flow chart below shows an example of the types of Discount groups.

In the example above you may notice that different customer groups can utilise the same discount group, this is for further customisation of the group. Click here for help on customer groups.

Essentially by having separate customer group you have the ability to change the 

  • Deposit account
  • Commission Proportion
  • Deposit Percentage required
  • Customer Price group (if used


Associating Inventory Items with a Discount Code

The Inventory items do not need to be apart of the same "Product Group", alternatively the Discount Code can be used over several "Product Groups" if required.

Below is an exported "Inventory Items" list for Roller fabrics, column I is where the Discount Group code is annotated.

Note that there is a few codes and even fabrics that have no discount code.


Factors of a Discount Group

There is a few factors that are involved.

First thing to note, is that not every product has the same discount value, by this I mean that different fabrics and components may have a different percentage that can be discounted.

To factor this we need to allocate a Discount code to the inventory items and then allocate a percentage to the applicable Discount code.
