Plan and Create Inventory Discount Groups

In this step, you will plan and allocate discounts for your products. Discounts can be applied in various ways, depending on your business needs. This includes applying:

  • A fixed percentage across all items in a product, or

  • Different percentages are based on materials, components, or specific product options (e.g., tracks or motors).

This choice is not permanent and can be changed or adjusted easily.

Start by Reviewing Your Product List

Before planning, consider whether:

Will the components and services get a discount?

 

Or different percentages will apply to specific items or materials within the product.

 

How to Plan Discounts

There are multiple ways to plan your discounts. Below are steps to guide you:

Option 1: Download Your Inventory Items

  1. Download all inventory items from BUZ.

  2. Use the downloaded file to allocate discounts for each product or component.

    • For example, if some products share the same discount percentage, group them together.

  • If products have different discount requirements, you can assign them to separate groups.

Customers have different Discount Percentages.

You may have different percentages for different customers; feel free to input that here.

Create Discount Code and Description

Once you have input the percentages, you can create a Code and Description for the discounts, You can use anything you want in the description, it is probably a good idea to use something easy to identify when you look at these at another time, the Code cannot contain Non-alpha numeric Characters or spaces, only Number and Letters.

Once you are happy with the list,

download the Import/export file

Import the List

Add the Codes and Descriptions to the file and Import back into BUZ.

 

When to Add More Discount Groups

If one of the groups requires a different percentage, you will need to create an additional discount group to reflect that difference. .

 

Final Tips:

  • Adapt as needed: Discounts can vary per customer or product. Customize your setup to align with your business strategy.

  • Use the BUZ tools effectively: Leverage templates and the inventory download feature to streamline planning.

  • Plan visually: Utilise columns in your planning spreadsheet to keep track of customers or customer groups sharing the same discounts.
