Adding a new product in BUZ involves multiple factors, making it challenging to identify a single best method. However, if you have all the necessary information and a solid understanding of BUZ, you can take advantage of certain shortcuts to save time.

Example for Shortcuts

One shortcut is to first add the Price Grid descriptions and Codes, followed by the Material with the populated Price Grid Codes. While this can save time, it may cause confusion when dealing with multiple Price Grids, especially if you’re unsure where each will be allocated.

Flexibility in Product Setup

Keep in mind that you may need to revisit different sections to add extra information, particularly if some elements haven’t been created in BUZ yet.

Recommended Product Setup Workflow

For the most efficient setup, follow these steps:

  1. Job Tracking Line/ Production line

  2. Suppliers (if using a Bill of Material)

  3. Product Groups

    • Main Product Group (e.g., Materials, Fabrics, or Product Style)

    • Components Group (you can reuse an existing group if applicable)

    • Bill of Material Group(s)

  4. Price Grids (Codes and Descriptions)

  5. Discount Codes (if using automated discounts)

  6. Populate Materials/Fabrics to the Main Product Group

    • Include Price Grid, Cost Grid, and Discount Group Codes if applicable

  7. Populate Components to the Components Group

    • Include options like extra charges, installation, or delivery fees

  8. Add Price Coefficients

  9. Update Discount matrix (If you use automated discounts)

  10. Populate Group Options (Questions and Answers)

  11. Job Sheet
