Overview
There are 3 types of "Job Tracking Lines":
- The Line / Area that manufactures the product.
- All Job Tracking, this is for exceptions that apply to all lines, such as public holidays, to save having to enter to individual Job Tracking Lines.
- Suppliers of finished product to confirm ordering, supplier confirmation, shipping container status, receipt of product. Especially where overseas suppliers are used.
For each "Job Tracking Line" enter:
- Code/ Abbreviation
- Description
- Sequence number: So that they are listed in a logical order and grouped rather than alphabetically.
- Tracking Lead Time:This is the minimum number of days before production can commence to allow for ordering of fabric and components. So even if there is no production nothing will be scheduled on this Job Tracking Line until on or after the Lead Time. Enter 0 (zero) for immediate start.
- Days to complete: Arrive in Factory - Finished production (Includes public holidays)
- Production capacity: For each day of the week the number of minutes production that can be carried out on the day. 480 minutes = 8 hours x 60 minutes This is so that different products can be manufactured on the same Production Line e.g. Roller Blinds and Romans. If number of units is the preferred count then set Capacity to the number of units and in the Inventory Group set Production Standard Time to 1 (one).
- Deactivate / Activate indicates immediate change in availability. This does not make any changes to existing allocations so schedule needs to be checked and reallocated if necessary.
