BUZ is a “just in time” production system, this means that if a customer orders 2 products that have a different production line and one of the products will take longer to build BUZ will plan this so that you don't have a product waiting in the warehouse while the other product is still in production.

Example

BUZ Blinds can build a roller blind in 5 days and can produce 50 Roller blinds per week

but they outsource Shutters which will take 6 weeks to build and can only order 10 per week

Just off these 2 values we can tell that the Rollers will be ready much sooner than the Shutters

BUZ Software will delay the rollers to start on week 5 so that both the Shutters and Rollers are due to be finished on the same day, this way there is only one appointment for installation and the rollers don't require storage while the Shutters are still being made.

Factors

There are a few factors that BUZ will take into account, Not all of these may be relevant to your business and we have ways to ignore them if you want

The main area’s that BUZ considers are

  • Check Measure - if applicable

  • Production

  • Dispatch

Areas of BUZ to set these values.

Job Tracking Line

This is the primary area to set the capacity for production, the amount of days to complete a product and lead days if any

Inventory Group

The Product or Inventory Group is where you would set the

  • Check Measure Lead Days

  • Production Extra days - if the production value in the Job tracking line does not cover the required days

  • Set the Production time (generally in Minutes)

  • Installation Standard Minutes

  • Check Measure Standard Minutes

Inventory Items

You can add extra Production and/or installation time to an inventory item, this would generally be used when a options is selected in the sales questions that would affect the standard time set.

The example below is that if a Bi-fold track is selected rather than the standard track, this option would add 30 minutes to both the Production and Installation

Installer’s Calendar

All jobs will be allocated to a calendar, this doesnt mean that the jobs are assigned to an installer as such, calendars can also be setup for couriers or pick up.

Note that the amount of time is in Minutes, you can change the value to be the amount of jobs per day as long as you use this same value in the Group.

  • Minutes per day

  • Time per Job
