Adding Inventory Items

Purpose
The purpose of this page is to show you how to add an inventory item via excel.
This is useful when creating multiple inventory items as the process can save you time and effort.
There is another option for adding an inventory items which is by creating them individually in using BUZ - Click here for more information.
Execution
Before adding inventory items you need to have setup a group for the inventory items to live.
If you think of a Group as a folder, the inventory items would be files that are in the folders.
Ensure you setup the Group correctly as there are a 2 types of groups, components and Fabric

Navigate to the area where all the inventory items are
Settings → Inventory Items → Import/Export
Now that you are here select Export Inventory Items
Select the Groups you wish to download.
you have the option to select multiple groups by holding ctrl while selecting the groups.
Another handy option is to do a search for the Group, simply hold ctrl + f and a text box will appear at the top right corner for the screen
Once you have selected the Group/s you wish to add items to select Export and an excel file should download to your computer.
Open the excel file and select the required tab
You will be presented with a large table with 41 active columns, not all of these columns are mandatory.

Fabrics/Materials and Components/services
As previously discussed there are 2 types of Inventory items
Fabrics and Components/Options
The main different between the 2 is how the layout of which you enter the information
Fabric
For Fabrics you will need to fill out columns D, E, F and AO
Column AO informs BUZ that you are adding, editing or deactivating information on that line, if you leave it empty BUZ will ignore this line.
A - Add
E - Edit
D - Deactivate
Columns A, B and C will be populated by BUZ
If you are attaching a Price, Cost and/or Discount grid you can enter the Code for those in G, H and I but they are not mandatory and can be added at a later stage.
Components/Options
For Components the information required differs
Previously BUZ would create a Code and Description, but for components we only need a Code and description, the Code must be in capital letters, should not contain any special characters !@#$%^&<>? or any spaces.
The description will show in the order and Quote templates if selected in an order
Leave Column A empty
Complete Column B, C and AO
Optional G,H and I
Column AO informs BUZ that you are adding, editing or deactivating information on that line, if you leave it empty BUZ will ignore this line.
A - Add
E - Edit
D - Deactivate
Once you have input the information into the sheet, save it to the computer and follow the instruction in BUZ to upload the sheet into the system
You have now successfully added inventory to BUZ
