Overview

There are 3 types of "Production Lines":

  1. The Line / Area that manufactures the product.
  2. All Production Lines, this is for exceptions such as public holidays to save having to enter to individual Production Lines.
  3. Suppliers of finished product to monitor ordering, supplier confirmation, shipping container dispatched, receipt of product. Especially where overseas suppliers are used.

For each "Production Line" enter:

  • Code/ Abbreviation
  • Description
  • Sequence number so that they are listed in a logical order and grouped rather than alphabetically.
  • Lead Time: This is the minimum number of days before production can commence to allow for ordering of fabric and components. So even if there is no production nothing will be scheduled on this Production Line until on or after the Lead Time. Enter 0 (zero) for immediate start.
  • Check  Measure Lead Time: This is the extra days added to Lead Time if a check measure is requested.
  • For each day of the week the number of minutes production that can be carried out on the day. 480 minutes = 8 hours x 60 minutes This is so that different products can be manufactured on the same Production Line e.g. Roller Blinds and Romans. If number of units is the preferred count then set Capacity to the number of units and in the Inventory Group set Production Standard Time to 1 (one).
  • Deactivate / Activate indicates immediate change in availability. This does not make any changes to existing allocations so schedule needs to be checked and reallocated if necessary.
