Overview

Installer Types

There are four types of "Installer":

  1. The fitter that installs the product.

  2. All Installers, this is for exceptions that apply to all dispatch methods, such as public holidays, to save having to enter individual Installers.

  3. Delivery methods such as couriers or if installer also delivers DIY product.

  4. Factory/Showroom pickups by the customer.

Installer Setup

For each "Installer", enter:

  • Contact details

  • Code/ Abbreviation

  • Sequence numbers so that they are listed in a logical order and grouped rather than alphabetically.

  • The Supplier Code if Contractor dropdown field lists Suppliers added through Supplier Maintenance. The Supplier selected will have invoices for fitting fees attached for payment through the Suppliers module. For employees, leave blank.

  • Estimated Time Between Jobs, in minutes, is used when calculating capacity for a day.

  • Is it a pickup location? This is for factory or showroom locations for pickups by the customer. NOTE: If this is selected, it will override the "Install" installer and then becomes a pickup location

  • Does deliveries or is a courier? This is for delivery methods such as couriers (one per courier) or if the installer is also used to deliver drivers. NOTE: If this is selected, it will override the "Install" installer and then becomes a delivery driver/courier

More information on dispatch installation can be found here

  • For each day of the week:

    • A number of minutes of work at a standard time that can be carried out on the day by this installer. 480 minutes = 8 hours x 60 minutes

    • Comment to signify in the diary "only works 8 to 12."

    • Does this dispatch Method/ Installer pickup on this day of the week? If pickup is not every day, then this signifies that all installations until the next Pick up has to be picked up on that day. This affects Workflow Timing of production scheduling. An example is pickups on Friday morning for installs on Friday and Saturday.

  • Skills is a list of all Inventory Groups and are used to indicate which items this installer can install.

  • Deactivate / Activate indicates an immediate change in availability. This does not change existing allocations, so the schedule needs to be checked and reallocated if necessary.

There”Installer

This installer has the lowest Sequence number, so all the orders default to this installer.

If you have multiple installers, you would add their Capacity of them together so that the estimated dispatch date uses this value as part of the calculation,
